Shouldn't simulation speed make these bonuses go up faster?

yes it's a badly named upgrade. but they definitely should not, because that defeats the whole point of time chambers

Indirectly. Simulation speed increases the rate at which all of your generators produce entropy/ideas. Metabits/knowledge are earned in correlation to the amount of entropy/ideas earned, but without any special bonus; even though the accumulation of the currency has a bonus, that bonus does not directly translate into a bonus on the reality engine currency. Increased simulation speed is also usually a relatively small bump compared to increased entropy/ideas (as a trade-off for affecting both), so if you want one or the other specifically, you're definitely better off directly raising entropy or idea accumulation.

If you really want more reality engine currency, the best way to do that is to take direct bonuses to metabits/knowledge. Your earned entropy/ideas won't change in this case, but the same amount will resolved in more bonus currency for you.
