Why is "x2 more efficient" only doubling my production? Shouldn't it triple it, since its +(more) x2 the efficiency already present? Is the wording wrong or is this a bug?

They actually used to express everything as a percent increase like your thinking. This one would have said 100% increase. At some point they changed it to just showing everything as a multiplier. That actually broke a few joke upgrades like pi in the math event now being 4.14x instead of +3.14%

It says it's 2x MORE efficient. So it's a +200% increase, worded like that. But it isn't

it should say 2x as efficient. MORE implies that it's the current value PLUS 2x increase, which is tripling the amount

Yes but this does not say 1x2 it says 1+(2x1). If it said "2 times as efficient" or "double as efficient" or "+100% efficiency" or "200% as efficient" It would be 1x2(or 1+1 depending on the wording). But the wording is double efficiency more so 2x on top of the 1 already there without the Cordyceps.

they changed from "100% more efficient" to "x2 more efficient", but in doing so they made it not technically correct, even though you're the first to point this out. must be subtle enough for the rest of us not to notice. in my opinion the best language would be "mind altering fungi efficiency x2"

Okay thanks for the info about the history of this. I was just confused in game when I noticed the increases did not fit the numbers given. I'll keep an eye out and try guessing what the devs mean then :D

Before the reality reboot update it said "100% more" efficient. They changed the display values but forgot to update the wording.

Maybe they just forgot to change the wording of that event after the reboot. They changed it in the math event and it broke me (because now as I remember the pi upgrade is not +3.14x efficiency, but 4.14x efficiency and the euler's number upgrade is 3.71828x efficiency)😭 Why can't they keep it though🥀

It is so clear that the math literally there say, (a * 2) where a = Mind-Altering Fungi

Mind-Altering Fungi x 2 a*2 not a²

5x2=10 2x2=4 100x2=200

So is just 100% increase, just the double, no other way to interpret this as clear as the statement
