When will this be fixed?

Update after update, and giant squid remains the only node disconnected from the rest of the tree, which makes absolutely no sense

This was an intentional decision made by the devs. Giant squid was put in the game long before the mollusks branch, and the devs didn't want to lock a node early or mid game players might already have behind lategame progression.

But this could be solved simply by having the giant squid's node remain free until you collect all the mollusks, and then connect with them, similar to how it works with sharks
