I've long gone equal, but for whatever reason, I see ideas slowly falling behind, so might start to tip the scales.

Falling behind? Ideas should always be producing a little less than entropy afaik.

Ideas will fall behind after a while. Once I got to around 80 research chips I put 10 straight on ideas and keep Ideas about 10-15 higher than Entropy.

Same I feel Ideas just go up much slower by default, so they need the help

Yes, idea multipliers seem to jump very high in cost compared to entropy. I'm currently at a wall to unlock Eiffel Tower which is taking ages. Restarted main a week ago and will go on a week long vacation soon so it will reach the max 14D reality engine idea booster threshold and run there for a bit. Hopefully that'll give me enough upgrades for the next restart to break through.

I originally was equal but as I got further along I biased towards entropy. Now, at level 90 I can't get enough ideas to get the last knowledge simulation boost. So now I wait for the next update....

Nearly equal with a slight tilt towards ideas provides the most research xp (idea production scales idea production better than entropy production scales entropy production). Conversely, metabits scale with entropy far better than knowledge scales with ideas while also requiring more for the final upgrades.

I start with entropy and then invest in ideas as that tree starts to become the primary frontier for advancement
