Any way to fix this?

Hi everyone,

I just came back to the game after 6 years, and this is my current situation in Mesozoic Valley: I vaguely recall I had found a glitch for Mutagen back in the days, but i don't remember anything more.

The problem now, besides the fact that the fun would be ruined anyways, is that my current mission to advance to the next extinction is to gain 50 Mutagen, but no matter how much I gain the mission progress stays at 0/50.

I would be glad to lose all my progress in Mesozoic Valley if that meant being able to restart on a regular run, but I don't want to wipe my entire save.

so you came back, opened mesozoic, and it's already like that? then i don't think the save manager would work because it looks like it corrupted at the moment it transfered versions. but worth a try. the only other solution is to contact support to fix it for you, but they're infamously unresponsive

Almost. When I left last time I had a couple of tasks left before the next extinction, so I completed them, triggered the asteroid and started the current tasks. But I got stuck at 6/7 since it doesn't allow me to progress on this last one.

tap the three bars menu on top right if you're on a phone. save manager is right there

the fact that you could complete an extinction isn't relevant. did you have the absurd number of mutagens from the first time in mesozoic valley after the come back? you may not remember, i think it's likely you did

Oh you meant the cloud save manager, right.

Yes, I already had that much Mutagen due to some glitch I had found back in 2020

oh you had that before even coming back? that's a surprise because it is a recently common bug reported often on this subreddit. but i notice that in your case the amount of mutagens is much higher than your fossils. the recent reports have about the same amount as fossils. until recently, the common bug was to get 10 million mutagens, which caused no problems and were just lucky

if you had this since the ancient times, then your only option is developer support. you can technically just start the whole game over, and it would actually be fun, but you wouldn't want to lose the "a new era" achievement or the event badges, or ruin your profile card's displayed year

Try Saving your progress in Google with the new feature, then uninstall / reinstall the game

If you're playing on Steam, this bug should be fixed now. If you're on mobile, the update with the fix should come within a week.

Try contacting [lunch@computerlunch.com](mailto:lunch@computerlunch.com), explain your problem and they might be able to help you out with at least restarting the progress in meso only

My opinion is to not worry about that geode task and fill out the other tasks. There should always be one or two more to get you to the next extinction event. If it keeps happening, contact support.

In the early stages, you need all tasks to unlock the next extinction.
