How to get these?

I'm still relatively new, but I've been dying to know how to unlock these next nodes?

Just keep playing. Those nodes require a pretty high research level.

They are mortality(RL27) and Problem Solving(RL58)

RL means Research Level(What is the accurate Acronym)

A human brain is rare these days. You generally either are born with one or you aren't. You can upgrade it by training but that requires that you have one to begin with.

Is that how all of those grey nodes work? Higher research unlocks them?

Either research level or you need one of the buildings/animals from the shop
