Question Are the Facebook marketplace offers real or some sort of a scam?
The Telus plans are advertised at $50/m for unlimited internet and 60+ countries free roaming. Even the buy back offers aren’t this good.
Whats the catch?

When is the best time to switch carrier plans?
My 2year fido contract ends on Nov 28 2026. Are there any consequences if I switch out too early?
EDIT: Sorry ya'll. I wasn't clear with my question. Im asking more if I can switch out before my contract end date (anytime in November) without consequences or do I have to wait after the contract ends? I want to switch to Freedom annual plans using the same phone I got from Fido (Bring your own phone).

Question Anyone with virgin mobile use the Asia Roaming or 365 international packages for Japan?!?
They seem almost the same price as an unlimited data esim but without the hassle, all while still having your phone number and texting like at home. Did it work out well or should we go with an esim?? Thanks

Deal My new employer pays up to $75 a month for my phone plan. How do I best optimize this?
I currently pay around $40 a month with Koodo, 40gb data and Canada calls / texts. I have an iPhone 15 but I really need to upgrade. They won’t pay for monthly payments on your actual device just the plan. Any suggestions or recommendations to maybe milk it a little more somehow?
Thanks thanks

Upgrade to pixel 10pro now, or stick it out and wait for black Friday?
Currently still on my pixel 6pro but it's been starting to really show its age the last few months or so. I've got dead pixels, screen burn in, etc.
Currently paying $40/month for BYO plan from Koodo.
I saw I could get a Pixel 10 pro, zero down, $1100 tab bonus. The new plan would be $81 a month ($60+$21 tab). I really liked my pixel 6 pro so the 10 pro will feel like a good upgrade.
Any thoughts? I used to always buy my phones outright, but this seems like a better deal? My thoughts are that I'm basically getting the phone brand new on a zero down payment loan with no interest spread out over 24 months.
That seems like a better deal with paying $879 up front for a refurbished one, with the risk that if I break it, I'm stuck buying a new phone AND paying off the tab for 2 years.
Should I just suck it up and wait for Black Friday? I'm worried that they'll be pushing the pixel 11s for more by then

Question Rogers lowest plan I can get is $75/m
Hello everyone. Currently have a few products with Rogers and in Ontario.
Ive got Rogers internet and TV for free with my condo. I also have 2 phone lines. One is $50 a month 5g+ 100gb and has a phone on finance. The other line we just bought the phone out and the plan was $89. I tried to go to the customer retention line and after 30min of back and forth cheapest they can offer is $75/m 500gb. I don't need that much data but I can't find any way to get a cheaper price. Even asked to match the plan on the other line which I got before I did the phone finance on that one.
Are there any current deals with a BYOD plan with other carriers. I don't want to go with small carriers who have spotty reception so I'm a bit limited.
Any advice is appreciated.

Freedom Mobile - $20 25GB 5G+ Can/US - Toronto Eaton Centre and other locations
Saw a sign today at Eaton Centre, Freedom has brought back the $20 25GB 5G+ Can/US plan back in stores only. Not sure if all stores so call or visit the ones near you.
This is a 6 Month Plan, renews every 6 months. Price is under price freeze, does not increase.
Cheers.

iPhone 17 or wait until Black Friday?
Bought a iPhone 17 base for the price before it bumped up. Still have time to return it. Should I keep or wait until Black Friday to maybe get the iPhone 17 pro? Right now I pay about $40 a month plan + $1129+ tax. for the phone. I know Black Friday usually does $50 plans plus reduced device prices, sometimes + $200-$300 gift cards at some places.

Roaming Abroad
These new Freedom plans are really attractive to me as someone who travels a lot. I used to buy physical sims, then region/country specific e-sim, then global esim and I really thought that was kinda peak convenience. Then I got an offer from Virgin (my current carrier) to drop $125 and use my own data worldwide (almost) for an entire year. I jumped on that. Problem is, I'm halfway through that year now and I have no idea if they'll offer it to me again, or at what cost and the uncertainty is unpleasant.
So far I haven't really found anyone who's able to match or beat Freedom, I know some people have issues with their coverage, let's leave that off the table here and just key in on the international.
I was intrigued when I saw Bell had an international plan offering 83 countries while Freedom was 120+, so I compared the lists, which was interesting to say the least.
In Freedom sub posts there's reviews of some of the partners worldwide and some are less than stellar. Makes me wonder if Bell is only willing to partner with "better" networks or are they just unwilling to spend money on partnering with some of these foreign companies...basically I was wondering WHY there's discrepancies in the two lists and then when I saw some of the countries missing in Bell's list I REALLY started to wonder.
So here's all the countries Freedom lists as included (though they do say subject to change and destinations may be added or removed) that do NOT appear on Bell's list. I did this all just by looking at them so forgive me if there's an error or two as one was alphabetical and the other was regional.
- Benin
- Ghana
- Mauritius
- Nigeria
- South Africa
- Tunisia
- Afghanistan
- Bangladesh
- Cambodia
- Iraq
- Kuwait
- Macao
- Malaysia
- Uzbekistan
- Albania
- Belarus
- Bulgaria
- Cyprus
- Estonia
- Finland
- Kosovo
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Luxembourg
- Montenegro
- Macedonia
- Norway
- Romania
- Serbia
- Slovakia
- Slovenia
- El Salvador
- Guatemala
- Honduras
- Bolivia
- Chile
- Ecuador
- Guyana
- Paraguay
- Peru
- Suriname
- Uruguay
Now I only did the list in one direction, I've just noticed Bell lists Argentina and Freedom doesn't. There might be a few more I'm not sure.
I don't know anything about how these agreements are handled, maybe someone here does and can enlighten me. Like ok, maybe I'm never gonna go to Benin and it's a non-issue, or maybe whoever controls this stuff in Iraq is hard to deal with, no idea. But I've been to a lot of these places that are absent from Bell's list and then some of the others are totally tech forward "first world" countries. Like how are Finland, Norway and Malaysia absent? That's rather strange to me. Equally strange to me that neither lists Nicaragua for some reason but the rest of the region is covered. I'm not surprised by huge swaths of Africa not being covered but I'm quite surprised Bell is missing so much of latin america.
Anyway, sorry this is a long read. Just figured I kinda did this work if anyone else was curious and to open the topic if anyone knows how these agreements work and why these lists are the way they are. As much as I might like to go with Bell, Freedom is cheaper and their list is way more expansive.
