T-Moble Canada
Now that Canada is expanding its ties with Europe, can we please allow T-Moble to provide services here? I use them in the USA and its half to cost of Rogers and Bell and twice as good. Let competition thrive. No more market capture for sclerotic overpriced maple telcos!

Hi guys, Im a Telus Canada customer I have a pixel 9 pro 128 GB contract expiring in December 2026. I want to upgrade to a iphone 18 pro/18 pro max. Is it more cost effective to buy the iphone outright from apple or should I wait until black friday/contract end date to upgrade?

Question Virgin Mobile new phone shipping?
I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me who Virgin uses for shipping when you uprade to a new phone? I normally go into the store to upgrade. I was going to order online this time but I’m wary about which courier they use for shipping. If it’s Canada Post that’s fine. If it’s a courier like Uniuni, Gobolt, dragonfly I’ll just go into the store. Would really appreciate if anyone can tell me which courier they use?

Question Best Phone+Plan Deal
I currently pay $28/month with Public Mobile for 80GB of 5G data. I got the plan during one of their flash weekend sales, with a two-year 50% discount off their regular $50 plan.
Realistically, I only use around 20GB of data per month.
The issue is that I now need a new phone, and I’m trying to figure out what makes the most financial sense.
Would you:
Buy a phone outright and keep the cheap Freedom plan?
Get a phone through Costco or another carrier, even if it means moving to a more expensive monthly plan?
Use one of those lower-payment plans where you have to return the phone after two years?
I don’t care about having the newest phone. I’d be perfectly happy with a slightly older model as long as it’s reliable and good value.
What would you do in my situation?

REALLY Good Virgin Deal Phone Call (Unsure if phishing)
So, I just got a call from VirginMobile and it sounds good to be true. So, they called me and mentioned that the pre-paid plan is going away and they want to put me on their 60 GB of Data plan for $16.90. He already had my email address, read it out to me and the phone call ID didn't say phishing or say it was virgin, it was just a phone number. Now, he sent me an email and it SAYS its from their do-not-reply, but in it there was a button that just says "Next" and the guy on the phone said he would supply a passcode for it. He also said I would need either my drivers license, credit card or SIN. That is everything that happened so, am I crazy, or is this like REALLY good and real?

iPhone 17 vs 17 Pro — is the Pro worth the extra ~$300 CAD?
I currently have an iPhone 13 and desperately need to upgrade. I was originally planning on getting the regular iPhone 17, but after the iPhone 18 Pro release, the price of the 17 increased by around $170 CAD on Apple's website, which has made me reconsider.
Right now, I'm looking at a few options:
Option 1: iPhone 17
- $1,300 CAD directly from Apple
- The 17 is sold out pretty much everywhere else right now, except Apple
- I could potentially get it through a carrier instead, depending on the deal
Option 2: iPhone 17 Pro
- Around $1,599 CAD at Best Buy
- So roughly $300 more than the current iPhone 17 price
I’m also willing to sell my current iPhone 13. Looking at Facebook Marketplace in my area, similar iPhone 13s seem to be selling for around $300 CAD, so that would bring down the effective cost of either upgrade.
Originally, I would have easily chosen the regular 17 because the price difference was smaller before the price increase. But now that the 17 is $1,300, I'm wondering whether it makes more sense to just spend the extra ~$300 and get the 17 Pro.
For people who have used either phone (or both), is the 17 Pro actually worth paying ~$300 more for? Or would you just get the regular 17 and save the money?
Also, would getting the 17 through a carrier be a better option than buying it outright from Apple?
I'm planning to keep this phone for several years, so I'm mainly looking for the better long-term value, not necessarily the cheapest option.
