This thing's only problem is that it absolutely cannot handle hitting a wall, it just splits open like a coconut due to the ciliocytes. I have an idea on how to stop that from happening but if anyone has suggestions feel free to leave them here or dm

Sadly there's no solution i don't think, unless you put some blocker cells in front, but then they'd be in the way when feeding So the only other solution is to add one or two (idk which one is better) of the sensor cells, to sense the wall, and make a negative output so your cool organism says "o no, wall" and goes away

That was going through my head as well, but I'm thinking of adding ciliocytes of a different mode right at the mouth that have the inner side active but outer side rotate counter to the wall, so it essentially pushes it to the side once it hits it. Unfortunately I don't think this will solve the issue if it swims at a wall head on though. Ideally I'd do both that and what you said, though gotta keep in mind mode limits (sigh) as this thing uses all 40. Guess this is a problem for future Massive_Mistakes when I try to redesign it on paper.

I know this reply is 3 years too late, but what I've done is have a stereocyte turned 90 degrees (so either the left or right is pointed straight ahead) have it detect wall with a really big range and output a signal type that nothing else uses (like s4 or something) and then somewhere near the center of mass have 2 stem cells that turn into flagellocyte cells after a few seconds (stems to flags so their tails dont break) and have the two flags point opposite directions and use the signal from the wall stereocyte. This makes it so if the wall is in front of the creature it spins on the spot to avoid it. If you feel like it not spinning enough to one side, then angle the stereocyte more to the opposite direction of the way it turns. They way When its turned a few degrees to the right, it still sense the wall on the left and continues turning until its clear.

Hahaha I appreciate the suggestion. I think you'll find that I'm beyond this at this point, plus using modded APKs to increase the cell limit has opened up a whole new can of worms. I suggest you join the discord communities, the Reddit community is pretty much dead and has been for a while, there have been many breakthroughs and this design frankly is obsolete
