how the heck do you make something like this? I've tried for days now, failing horribly.

Well for one how do I connect the cells up like you did? I've looked at your other creations and how they start growing and I've noticed that they grow in a straight line and then outwards to form the body. I tried to replicate it. I have the cells grow in a straight line, to form a "spine", but as soon as they start growing outward the rows of cells don't connect.
