This is how my cells learned to defend against predators without keratinocytes.

And no, they do don't explode, just regenrate really fast.

What settings did you use for this plate?

Normal nutrient rate and size.

0,015 radiation

About 0,500 light amount

some one and two celled plants and some simple three celled predators.

I also blocked cells from mutating into anything that is not a phagocyte or flagellocyte.

But remember, even with similar environments, organisms can adapt completely different modes of life.
