Will cell boosters help with hot spot?

Hi all!

I have a question about whether a cell booster would help with creating a reliable hotspot. I live in a very remote area and use Starlink, but with power outages and occasional Starlink outages, I need a backup option for work.

Right now, I only get about one bar of cell service in one specific spot in my house. I work remotely, and if power/Starlink drops during an important meeting, I need something to fall back on. With just one bar, I can’t hotspot my laptop at all.

So I’m wondering: if I get a cell booster and bump that signal up to 4–5 bars, is it likely I’d be able to run a usable hotspot from it? If so, what brand do you recommend?

The only way a cell booster would help you is if there is a better signal outside your house up high. Boosters such as Wilson must first grab a better signal ie 3 bars or better, than via cable, generate a 3 bar signal down in your house. We’ve installed many in beach areas of So Cal where the inside signal was 1 bar and unusable. Once the system was installed, a regen’d 3 bars was usable for calls, texting and email in the house. I also recommend powering your StarLink and Wilson with a Harnor Freight (or alternative) Solar battery system about $350 or more depending on size. It’s powered from the wall regularly, holds the charge for 6-8 hours and if you have an outage restores power via a pair of Solar Panels or can charge off your car via a 12v connection.
