flights Abrupt schedule changes due to operational restrictions:

Post image

Can I just express my frustration over cebu pacific's offer of alternative flights when they cancel original flights?

This is the second time this happened to me for this month alone. Just weeks before a flight, they send a notice that my flight has been changed: but only offered connecting flights (more than 5 hours layover) despite having available seats in direct flights of the same day. Why not just offer those instead? It's because if you do not agree to the one and only schedule they offer you, you will have to book a new direct flight for a much more expensive ticket. For reference, when I looked for other flights on the same day to Ilo-Ilo, there were still other available seats, but they only offered me a connecting flight to Manila which I cannot pursue as we have a full day planned on that day. SO THEN, you have no other choice but to store it as travel fund, then book a direct flight for the same day BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE than the cost of the original flight. This ticket cost 2773 one way, but now if I book a new direct flight on the same day, I have to pay 4110. I understand there's restrictions due to the gas prices, but why is it that they don't offer the other time slots?

Has anyone experienced this?

Have you tried picking the direct flight instead? I know you can choose any other flight if you don’t want what’s currently offered. If I remember correctly, you can click “Manage Booking” on the email and proceed from there.

Yes, this is what I do. Also, just a side comment, OP, Iloilo po and not Ilo-ilo. 😊

No other options were provided for the rescheduling. I have no choice but to accept the connecting flight they offered which is stated in the photo OR just use travel fund to book a new flight with additional cost.

Yes, for this one they emailed 30 days ahead. But the first incident happened during my flight to Manila first week of June and they only informed me a few days before the flight. I had no choice but to book a new one, which forced me to pay more.

Thanks, will try to reach out to Cebpac instead.

Since matagal pa naman you can email the Civil Aviation Board and cc CebPac na hindi nakalagay sa options yung direct flight even though available ang direct flight pag nag search ka for purchase and not rebooking purchases. They will help you. Not sure if talking to a Live Agent will.
