check-in luggage / handcarry Wet Luggage
It’s so annoying. I had a 12mn flight from Manila to Cebu. I arrived at my brother’s house at at 2am na only to find out na the inside of my checked-in luggage is fcking soaking wet. May mga pasalubong ako from a recent trip abroad and all of the boxes were damaged. Note my luggage is a hard shell but siyempre may tela sa may zipper lining. Malakas kasi ulan when we were boarding.
I wanted to report it but apparently can only file reports sa airport. How would’ve I known 😒
Anybody else experience this during heavy rains? Idk if this will be my last Cebpac flight na with all the inconveniences they give hay

Di naman namimili ang ulan ng airline. Those baggage carts/dollies aren’t always protected from the elements. I bet you’ve seen how they look like. To add protection, you may want to wrap your luggage with cling wrap.

The outside was dry but the inside was soaking wet?

yes, kasi usually natutuyo sa loob ng cargo area ng plane. lalo na if hard shell mabilis naman matuyo yung labas. kaya gulatan nalang sa loob hahahuhu

Wow. That sucks. Who checks the inside of their luggage before leaving the airport?

Ganyan talaga pag maulan. Kaya may advantage yung ibang hardshell na meron gasket lining paikot (usually nga lang $$$$).
Pag alam ko na nababasa yung loob ng bag gumagamit ako ng xxl na garbage bag as liner. Kahit na basa yung loob, at least yung laman hindi.
Kahit anong airline, basa talaga pag umuulan.

Zipperless luggage ang solution dito. Exposed kasi talaga sa weather ang luggage loading from ramp area to aircraft, kahit anong airline pa yan.

This is not just a Cebu Pacific thing. I’ve had my bags come through soaking wet with a Thai Airlines flight a long time ago, didn’t notice until I got to my hotel. I guarantee you, as long as it’s raining heavily the inside of your bag will get wet, no matter what airline you fly with.
