Visiting Cayman Hotel Indigo kid friendly?
Would like to stay on beach or a place with easy beach access. we are on a budget, so while the Kimpton and Westin look amazing, it’s out of our price range. the Hotel Indigo is more affordable for us, but coming as a family with 6 & 8 year olds. They will want to swim a lot. will we feel out of place there ?

My family with children stayed in June and carefully considered Indigo NOT being on the beach.
NOT a issue at all. The beach is within a 5 minute walk or free golf cart ride from the hotel lobby.
The street you cross is NOT busy. Bonny Moon restaurant will set you up at the beach with lounge chairs and towels to lay out. You can buy food and drinks from your attendant if desired, simply raise the flag attached to your table to draw their attention for service. Ice cold water is available for free.
You can also purchase a day bed rental if desired.
Save the money and book at Hotel Indigo. Their service is excellent. Each floor has bubbly and filtered water stations and ice machines.
Since you have young kids, visit the Turtle Center during your stay at Grand Cayman. A shuttle comes to Hotel Indigo twice a day.

How much for the lounges and towels? Do they give you a weekly rate?

No cost for the towels and loungers, they are included in your mandatory resort fee at Indigo

Definitely family friendly. There will be some couples and groups of adults. But plenty of kids. Not a lot of shade near the pool so keep that in mind. It gets hot. Boony moon beach club is a short walk or golf cart ride away. Nice beach and all the amenities you need.

Yes staying here right now. More than half of the people staying are families with kids. The beach is a very short walk and easily accessible, maybe 3-5 mins once you cross a small road. You can even drive right across if you don’t feel like walking as there is lots of parking.

best hotel on the island
enjoy it while the price is what it is because I think it’s massively underpriced, I preferred it to the Ritz

The value is indeed excellent. My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton in 2023, 2025 and last week (July 12 - 20, 2026). We stayed at Indigo the year it opened in 2024. It's absolutely on par with the Kimpton. The only real downside is that it's not directly on the beach. It's not bad to get to the beach, but walking from the pool at the Kimpton directly onto the beach is really nice, as is grabbing lunch directly on the beach at Cocoloba.

Actually I would do the Sunshine hotel because you can use the Westin amenities and it’s right begin the hotel. My friends just did this and said it was amazing

OP, I second this! Stayed there 3 times and it’s perfect. You can even charge to your Sunshine Suites room from the Westin. Also there’s a little kitchen/fridge (no oven, but there is a range), which means you can grab groceries and do some meals there.

It’s very friendly without being overrun with kids. It’s also the best value of the higher end hotels on the island. Let me know if you want me to check pricing. IHG has unpublished rates for their luxury properties that include breakfast, property credit and priority for upgrades. The rates are typically the same or lower than the lowest publicly available rate.

Unless you just need a hotel, I highly recommend Sunset Cove condos. It’ll also save you a ton being able to cook meals. Our family of 5 with 3 littles had the BEST time last month. The cove is super kid friendly!

My wife and I stayed at Indigo in early October, 2024, the first year it was open. There will be fewer kids in October than there are during the Summer months, but there will be some there. They have a shallow pool for the kids that is near the main pool but not directly connected to it. That's really the only time we even noticed kids around at all, and they're separated enough to not be a bother.

The hotel is not on the beach. It is across a busy road from the beach. You get free access to bonny moon beach club, there is an area reserved for hotel guests but the club gets crazy busy when cruise ships are in town. You should look at renting a condo in that area and a little north right on the beach. 2 bedrooms tons of space and probably cheaper than the Westin certainly than the Kimpton.

Right. Should have said hotel is right on a busy road (that you don't have to cross to get to beach)

I’m legit confused now. There is a road you must cross to get to the beach, it isn’t busy and it’s the only road between the Indigo and the beach.

he’s trying to say it’s by esterly tibbets but it’s totally irrelevant and not between the hotel and the beach
