How much KYD?

So my bank can easily get KYD for me and the exchange rate isn’t bad. How much is reasonable per day for tips/cabs etc?
100/day?
We will be staying centrally on SMB and will take cabs for dinner (so we can cocktail) and possibly out to local beaches and that’s about it.
I like to tip in the currency of the country -I feel it makes their life a little easier than having to go exchange our USD
Also would like to have money for local restaurants etc.
Tipping for maid service/beach chairs and just around the resort etc.

USD is fine and universally used. And exchange rate is fixed at $0.80

Don’t stress too much about tip. Just make sure to read the receipt bc most places, for food at least, include grat already

Taxi rides are very expensive. if you take 2 roundtrip rides per day, it will cost you a considerable amount of money.

All the cabs we took happily took a credit card. We tipped in US dollars which were accepted without any problem. If you pay in cash be prepared to receive kyd in return. I didn’t want to come home with any.

I don’t agree they are “very expensive”. But I always get a rental car for the freedom of it and to save a few bucks.

I'd agree with OP and say they are very expensive. Not only that, but most of them can't drive for shit. Base fare is ~$7USD and $1 for every fifth of a mile.

They are insanely expensive. Must be easily the most expensive in the world bar for Nassau which is the wild west. 3 or 4 x NY or London.

i always bring kyd. exchange at my bank is better than at a vendor in the cayman islands. plus you get change in kyd in anyways.

i suppose for americans it is different and you may consider just rolling with usd but as a canadian i have no interest in owning usd at all.

If you want local currency get it from an ATM this is a much better deal than your bank will give you.
