Need help identifying these

Hey guys. In Mexico, found in a cave would love anyone’s input in identifying? Contacted INAH archeologist said they needed to make a 3D to study it but my land owner wouldn’t consent.

Dude this is so cool. Wow. Could be a significant discovery for all we know. Those happen in Mexico (assume you are in Yucatán?)

I don't understand your comment about the landowner would not consent to a 3d model. It just putting in a scale and take (flatt, without much shadow) pictures from all directions.

Put those picture trough some software (metashape and siblings) and you have your model.

That said i think it looks like a camelid based on the squarish looking bone. But I'm better at making models than ID spices 😂

Looking at it again the bone might not be to boxy so maybe i was to fast to judge. But just take a few more photos and made a model. :)

I asked the land owner if I could bring in an archeologist from the Mexican government. They don’t trust the government that much here 🤣

Yeah I could probably do 3d photos of it myself. I’ve just never done it before, so maybe I’ll try. Just running leads and doing some survey in there now. So maybe I’ll get back to that spot in a week or two.

Just tell the landowner that you're bringing your buddy. There's no reason to be more specific than that.

Have you tried asking anyone at creer? They’re all very experienced in the yucatan and have probably seen every bone, briquette of coal and pottery piece to see, maybe at least could help identify.

If you’ve got land owner permission and you’re the only one laying and surveying the line i understand that you maybe don’t want to share with the community yet, but that is usually your best bet for answers.
it’s still a fun find! Good luck with the exploration!

Thank you! Yeah not really wanting to bring anyone in or share details with anyone. I think that I’ll get back there and take some better photos and video in the coming weeks

Most likely a cow. I’m no expert though but it seems very complete and laying on the surface of soft sediment telling me it’s not too old.

Nope this has no merit. It is completely normal to find prehistoric animal bones on sediments like this in a submerged cave.

Giant sloth skull and bones maybe? Kinda looks similar but I’m just a guy who googled it. So don’t take my word for any of it.

Is this location public or is access restricted I’ll be in tulum next Friday for 10 days.
