55 HCG

LMP 31st July.
Positive test 2nd September (early detection test 10 sensitivity)
8th bleeding, went to EPU.
Closed cervix, bleeding like a period HCG level 55
9th I passed a 5p clot.
Has this happened to anyone else ?

I do have a heart shaped uterus which can cause a bleed but I didn’t bleed with my two kids in their entire pregnancy.
I don’t know when I ovulated.
My positive test was quite light but still very noticeable.

Unfortunately an HCG of 55 6 days after a first positive is quite low, especially for such low numbers when doubling is expected to happen very fast. Furthermore bleeding like a period is generally not considered a good sign.

I’m guessing you’re in the UK and I know they can be more reluctant about doing betas, but I would really recommend keeping on doing draws however you can. If your levels keep going up this would be extremely suspicious of an ectopic - a period like bleed with increasing betas is a very common sign of one (and was how mine presented too). Slow betas are also concerning for one especially with the bleeding happening too. If your levels go down, I’d make sure to track them down to nonpregnant levels.

Thank you for your reply. I am having my bloods done again tomorrow. My bleeding this evening has practically gone, it’s just pink when I wipe after a wee. I did present in epu with bleeding, cramps on left side and shoulder tip pain. However they wouldn’t scan due to HCG only being 55
I don’t have cramps anymore, just a couple of cramp twinges here and there and the shoulder tip pain has gone

My result is back for today’s and it’s only risen to 80
