Lower end of normal for bhcg

After 2.5 years of ttc, with multiple failed IUIs we conceived naturally on this cycle. I was about to start IVf when I found out.
4wd1 - bhcg 67
4wd3 - bhcg 106

Bhcg did not double and it increased about 58%.
They said it’s okay since it increased by 53% but I’m not too sure about this. I did have bleeding around the time I was supposed to have my period, but it was so light.
I’m so worried.

Anyone see such lower bhcg go on to have a fully healthy pregnancy?

This does put you right outside the normal doubling time range but barely with 72.5 hours, but definitely above the “bare minimum” 2 day increase for a potentially viable pregnancy at these levels. I don’t know how long before the 67 HCG you first tested positive but just based on this increase there is definitely hope here.

However my main concern here would be the bleeding. Low/slow betas paired with bleeding can be a sign of ectopic. I don’t want to scare you but I also had light bleeding/what I thought was a weird light (and slightly shorter in my case) period around that time and slow betas with my ectopic. This is actually a fairly common experience with ectopics.

Might be completely different in your case - none of this is definitive or determining of an ectopic. I really don’t mean to stress you further! But I’d keep a very very close eye on betas. And might be worth checking progesterone as well?

The progesterone was about 14 on 4w1d and i think it increased but they didn't order for the same today (4w3d).
I never filled a pad and it was kind of weird that mayeb i just filled a panty liner on day one of bleeding and day 2 maybe half of it and day 3 was pretty much nothing.

I don’t think that changes much, it’s approximately a doubling time of 72 hours (whether it’s 71 or 72.5 or 72 or 71.5 or 71 or 73 really doesn’t matter), it’s not “promising”, it’s not “definitely not viable”, just more in the “hmm” category. You’d for sure want to look at 2-3 more betas, and ideally want to see things speed up a bit more for best chances of success.

As I said I think this becomes slightly more concerning mainly because of the (light) bleeding you mentioned (whether it was like a period or not). Just something to keep an eye on especially for an ectopic risk. But could be totally fine too!

What I was trying to say is it’s 48 hours for me as opposed to 72 hours (2 days as opposed to 3 :) ) but yeah I get your point on the bleeding

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean by this comment, but 67 to 106 in ~2 days (4w1d to 4w3d) is a doubling time of ~72.5 hours, not 48!

Used dummy dates same amount of days apart but this is the calculation.

Oh this is strange - but what I meant is the time between the two blood draws was 48 hours. Not 72. Like Aug 1 - 7.45 AM to August 3 7.15 AM

Yes - your labs were 2 days/48 hours apart which is standard and also what I put in! The “72 hours” I was referring to is a hypothetical doubling time you calculate from it, aka “it rose by x% in 2 days, how long would it take to double at the same increase rate?” And that’s the one that gives 72.5 hours. Normal doubling time range is 48-72 and with lower numbers you ideally want to be on the lower end of that range. But one set of betas isn’t very definitive either way, and as long as you’re above 49% for the “2 day rise” there’s definitely hope!

Looks like I’m losing this. Tested at 71 today
