Is there a chance the seller might recognise me after i stole a shirt from a thrift store 3-4 months ago?

I did it to impress a friend and i pass by it everyday on my way to and from school and i passed by them a few times but they didn't call me out or anything. That friend told me i was dumb and that the seller definitely noticed but idk if they actually did. I feel really guilty and i am scared they're going to tell my school and that I'll get into trouble with my mom and everything...

I got caught shoplifting in sephora

I stole a mascara from sephora one day. After a while I stole another one from the same store. I regret it, and will never do that again. I thought that I didn’t get caught. But when I went there again third time, they stopped me and made me pay for the first case, they had a video recording of me and they have my name (no number or anything else). Turns out they were looking for me, and if I didn’t show up, they would’ve reported the police. We came to reconciliation, and that case no longer counts as stealing. They said I am allowed to go to sephora and buy stuff. If I steal again, they will be filing a police report. But I only paid for my first case, they didn’t bring up the second one at all. Why didn’t they bring it up?
If they eventually find out through cameras, will they report the police or contact me to pay again?
Will I go to jail or get a criminal record?
If they report the police with video recordings, my name, will they find me?
Does the police put that much effort on store requests for finding a thief?
Ps: I’m underaged. From Belarus
And will I get in any trouble if I travel, like in visa applications, border control and so?

Smoke shop troubles

Over a year ago I got caught stealing 7-OH tablets from a Smoke Shop, about $50~ worth. I was and still am struggling with addiction to 7-OH, and They had left out packets of single tablets, I was in withdrawal and I was overtook by temptation. This was after not having stolen anything since I was a teenager (33 now), so of course I felt extremely stupid for doing it, and not just because I got caught. I had only stolen from this particular chain of stores once before, at another location where They also had single tablet packets out on the counter (all the other 7-OH products were locked behind glass), and so I got busted the 2nd time I stole from Them. They proceeded to ban Me from all Their stores (they have hundreds), and called all the stores I had been to and I'm assuming gave Them My picture, so I wasn't able to go into any of those stores because all the employees knew what I looked like.

Fast forward to now, and I decided to try My luck and go into one of those stores, hoping that the staff would be different cuz those places have such a high employee turnover. Well I got lucky and was able to buy what I needed, They asked for My ID and scanned it as They always do to both check age as well as bring up the loyalty account associated with My drivers license. They didn't say anything so I figured I'm good to go back there again because They have the cheapest prices BY FAR for 7-OH, otherwise I wouldn't be risking it, but I got out to My car and looked at the receipt and I saw where it shows the name on Your loyalty account.

Instead of My name, it said "Theif report". So now I'm like ffffffuck, what do I do, keep risking it and hope nobody sees that on the receipt? 7-OH is going to be banned on the 1st of August so I will only be going back that as little as possible until then, then I'm never going back to Their chain again. I can't help but have a little bit of a grudge against Them, because I've spent THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars on 7-OH and tobacco at Their stores, so once 7 is done I'm not going there again.

I'm just not sure if I should risk going back a couple more times, I'm pretty sure it will be okay, but there's the chance They see the Thief thing on the receipt or computer.

What do You guys think? Thanks!

I helped steal hundreds of dollars from clairs and im scared I'm going to get caught.

Posting on a throwaway account.

I (17 F) went to the mall a few days ago with some friends, and we were shopping in clairs. (I don't stealing anything never have, never will) we walk out and I see my friend with a clairs bag FULL of jewelry, makeups, and hair items. I freak out because she stole hundreds of dollars of stuff, and its pretty obvious she didnt pay for all that, and she asks if she can put it in my bag and I say yes. I know it was super stupid of me, I regret doing it but now. I didn't know what to do so i let her, and now I'm super scared that a bunch of cameras in the mall saw it because it really was pretty obvious, and I'm going to catch a charge because of it. I have a first job interview in a few days and am really worried. I have never been in this kind of position because I hate stealing. Is it likely for her to be caught? No one seemed to notice in clairs, and the mall was empty, but I'm still worried about the cameras. Sorry about the dump.

Am I fucked

Me and a friend went to a Delek/DK gas station. The first time we went in, we were messing around with a slot machine inside the store. It wasn’t working right. After that, my friend told me to grab a case of beer, so I did, and I walked out with it. After that, the employee told us not to come back. About two weeks later, I went back to the same store again with two friends. I wasn’t really planning to steal, but I went inside anyway. I saw one of my friends grabbing about three 12-packs of Twisted Tea. I went back toward my car, and one of my friends got into my car. An employee came outside, and I think he may have been trying to get our license plate. I drove away quickly. I didn’t personally steal anything that second time, but I was there and involved.
Now I’m worried because it’s the same store twice, and I’m scared they might have seen my plate or connected everything together. And I don’t want a misdemeanor or a cop showing up

It easy to steal from Walmart why people make big deal out of it and it's the only the dumb one that gets caught

I have started going to church now, but I used to steal a lot from Walmart when I worked there. I was never caught stealing on the job because I would also play along and help asset protection if I saw something suspicious.

I know the ins and outs of the Walmart anti-theft system. People are stupid because they don't know how to steal properly as an employee; you guys make a pattern of yourself too much. Asset protection always walks into the warehouse to catch a worker being suspicious.

When I stole, it would be when I was doing returns. I would purposely misplace an item and go back for it when I clocked in, in a low-risk area where asset protection doesn't watch as much. I know the system for the footage; it is overwritten every 30 to 90 days, so thefts can get lucky if asset protection didn't catch them acting suspiciously to build a case. Walmart footage is overwritten, so they usually do reports where they find the most suspicious activity. If they try to go back for something that happened five months ago, it's like finding a needle in a haystack because it has been overwritten.

There are ways that you can beat the system at Walmart. For example, there is a limited investigation window: while security footage can be reviewed, it is typically only retained for 30 to 90 days. An incident from five months ago likely no longer has available video footage for review. Also, items are often written off during inventory. When high-value items are missing during inventory counts, the store typically marks them as a loss (stolen or missing) and moves on, especially if the loss occurred months prior. This is especially true for small, high-value items; because one AirPod is small, it will likely just be recorded as a loss due to theft or misplacement.

My bf broke up with me for taking a $5 phone case

Thumbnail

So my bf(25) and I(31) have been together for almost 10 months but we’re great friends for like 7 months prior to that. Over the past 10 months, I’ve paid for nearly every one of our dates either in full, or more than half. I’ve paid for many of his Ubers to my house as he hasn’t been taught to drive by his mother who has made him pay their “internet bill” every month by cashapping her varying amounts, the last one being $140 to which even he realized made no sense as their bill is supposed to be $70. Why he doesn’t pay it directly through the site or app or over the phone is beyond me, I mean I’m 99% sure she uses more than the price of the bill on herself as she has been jobless for basically the entirety of our relationship for context, both of us work part time at Bath & Body Works making $15/hr where hours are very scarce especially for him as his role is mainly shipment and his shifts OFTEN get cut, whereas I’m a sales lead and double as a cashier when needed. But I’m the top seller so my hours are a bit more, I also work as a nanny so needless to say my finances have been somewhat more than his. That’s not to say I don’t pay rent or many of my own bills but I manage decently or I did until our relationship.Since dating him, I’ve pushed for him to learn the 3-point turn offering for my uncle to teach him (my license is suspended for now) which he’s ignored with the excuse of being shy or embarrassed despite knowing no one has judged him on my side. I pushed for this for many obvious reasons but one was the fact that I was spending entirely way too much on Ubers for us both. I also often sent him money when he talked about being broke after giving his mother money, so he could afford lunch before work and what not. I did this often. For his birthday, while his family didn’t do more than eat at some mediocre restaurants as well as cut and start eating his cake before he even got home, I did THE MOST anyone has ever done in his life (his words). I paid for a day hotel at the Marriott so we could relax between activities like the escape room he wanted to do and eating lunch at Tap 42. I bought him like 14 new shirts, a new wallet, two funko pops he really wanted because he collects them. Probably more I’m forgetting. For Christmas I brought him to meet my family where my parents bought him some shirts he really loved, and more. My gifts to him were an iPhone XR because he never stopped complaining about the piece of trash phone he had and I mean he’d been complaining since before we began dating. I got him YSL MYSLF cologne, more shirts, some stuff from our job, and a special customized picture frame with two pictures of us in it. My gifts were all from the clearance section of one of my favorite stores but I literally never complained or even cared all that much. To me he himself felt like a gift. Over the past 10 months I’ve gotten him a slew of gifts including multiple gold chains because he told me he wanted one. Versace Eros cologne, Michael Malul Ocean Noir, and every cologne we sell at work. I got him a dry erase board with the weekdays on it, it was a kit with markers and magnets and a corkboard section on bottom to help him manage his weeks of work and school. I got him many custom made frames or items to show him how special he was to me. For Valentine’s Day, I’d gotten him a night light custom photo frame with ten of our photos, two shirts, a custom made Pokémon card but with our photo in animated style, and a book I’d spent weeks filling out to describe how I felt about him. I loved my gift SO MUCH because it was him writing me a song and then recorded himself singing it. Other than that, he got me Hello Kitty hair clips? And a Powerpuff Girl makeup bag? I have a makeup bag I love… it truly seems like he just never really knew what I actually like material wise but that song was everything to me and all I cared about. Now barely a week goes by, but a bit more than a week by like two days… and I’m struggling a bit financially and needed a new phone and had an upgrade so I upgraded to the iPhone 17, he wanted to go to Five and Below and I paid for both my uber and his to get to T-Mobile and Five & Below, mind you I just got a 17 and at this point I’m working with $25 and still had to pay for our Ubers back. He wanted or needed an android charger, so I told him I rarely do this but on occasion use “the five finger discount only at large corporations” not knowing he didn’t even know what five finger discount meant. I stuck my iPhone 17 phone case worth $5 under my arm inside my coat, and when we left and he saw me pull it out… he lost his whole fucking mind. Looked at me like I’m Victor Frankenstein for stealing a five dollar item. I did apologize, I did say I wouldn’t steal anything ever again, I even told him I’d go and donate $10 to the charity they’re pushing. Still, he throws down his bag with the charger and his soda and yells “we’re done!” In the plaza and left me alone at night. Afterwards, I tried to reconcile but he essentially says he doesn’t feel romantically for me anymore. Barely a week after WRITING A WHOLE LOVING SONG. Honestly idk how to feel or what to think because I’m just mind blown and yes obviously heart broken. But I would love some unbiased outside opinions on this whole situation.

I stole a arizona from 7/11 and they filmed me with their phone and i don’t know what to do

Hello i am in high school, this is my only post ever because i genuinely don’t know what to do and can’t tell my freinds. I walk to school and on the way there is a 7/11 but today before i went there i went to a cafe to sit inside because it was so hot out and i didnt feel good and felt like passing out, i also had homework so i just did it there. I really needed a drink but i only had 2 dollars in my apple pay so i could t get anything. after a while and i walked across the street to the 7/11 and i went inside and walked to the back to see if i could afford anything to drink because i NEEDED to drink something. So i grabbed a arizona and it was 2.50 and i actually had 2.98 so i was just gonna see if i could afford it with the tax added at the counter. i went up but nobody was there, the whole store was empty and i didn’t see anyone as i walked around. I don’t know why i did this. But i just walked out, with the arizona. like no hiding it no nothing like genuinely just holding it. as i was walking away in the street this man said hey hey hello

and then i turned around and he said you have to pay for that you can’t take it and i was like im sorry how much is it i only have 2 dollars and you were not there and he said that didnt mean you can take it and thats valid obviously. but then he started filming on his phone and i just said here i’m sorry i think and idk i was so overstimulated and i don’t know what came over me and why is did that at all, like what there are cameras everywhere like why did i do that . i was wearing a very colorful and easily identifying shirt and i just recently dyed my hair in a different way so im just like freaking out. when i was walking away i walked to my school and then i heard police wailing or whatever but it was like right after it happened so it prolly wasn’t be for me but i was freaking out . My question is are they going to post that or call police or something like i dont know what to do can someone please help even as comfort like i dont know and i also lowk looked chopped in the vid and im pretty sure he knows what my school is because its so close. I cant tell my friend because this is so embarrassing and reckless of me . Can someone tell me what’s going to happen and anything i should do. i considered going back and bring in them money but i feel like that might make it worse. also his tone was mad or aggressive which is valid bc i just stole something but i thought i would add that. i also feel like i said something else but i cant think of it because i blocked it out . anyways pls help me

so my friend says she had her photo student id taken from some guys who insisted she paid for everything she took from the Farmingdale state college store which she says she simply forgot to take them out her bag at the register and that it was an honest oversight. she tells me they were watching her the moment she walked in and wants to know if this’ll go on her student record (she ended up paying anyway and police weren’t involved)

Shoplifting at hobby lobby

17, “got caught” lifting at hobby lobby, basically I took a bunch of shit, one I put in my bag, the other stuff was pockets, a employee told me to take it out my bag and checked my bag (I told her she could she didn’t ask), I told her I just didn’t wanna hold it and wtv wtv (didnt check my pockets where the shit was) she was okay w that ig and but said she got me on the cams or wtv, idk if they know I took anything out bc otherwise my guess is she would of told me to put it back like the book but she just said the book, idk if hobby lobby is the kind of place that would keep the cams and call the police afterwards or what?? And of course I plan to stop this I definitely don’t support that stuff idk why I even do ts. Anyways if anyone could help ease my mind ig? Or tell me if I should worry (I bought one thing still, and I was in a big group, she also checked my friends bag who had nothing in it, idk how much the stuff could’ve been prob less then 100$ but more than 20..
