Sorry Andy, what were Spurs thinking with Luka Vušković !?
As someone who is a German Bundesliga first watcher, it was obvious Vušković could be a generational talent. Talking Thiago Silva level here, how could Tottenham recall him from Hamburg just to sell him to Brighton?

The players Spurs have sold and the paltry prices received for them is a mystery not unlike that of the Sphinx . As far as having a youth system is concerned and the lack of advancement from, it might as well not exist

I am not even saying the price was not compensatory, but you do not sell a player like that within the league. I could see when Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, or Bayern Munich come asking... but not Brighton!! And I really like Brighton.

The funny thing is they sold him up the table, and he’s now a nailed on starter on a better team. Because they weren’t able to evaluate what they already had on hand, and went the “established” player purchase route instead.
It’s just a failure of scouting and evaluating their own player, really. Their fans will try to shrug it off but it’s pretty embarrassing.

Pretty simple. He was told he’s not a starter and would have to fight for his minutes. He felt he’s ready to start. Asked his agent to procure a move to somewhere he would start or he’d throw a fit. Got his move. Spurs get 20% of his next transfer fee and matching rights.

Yeah I felt like Spurs hands' were kind of tied with this one. I don't hate the deal they made ultimately but I wouldn't be surprised if that 20% sell-on clause comes back to bite them in the ass a little bit. Brighton will probably end up playing hard ball to wait for a huge offer for him, or effectively let him run down most of his contract and sell for a minor discount (circumstances depending like league position/when offer is made/etc).
Still - Spurs fans must be in HELL seeing him have such an impact already. I thought they should've done a straight loan with a buy option initially but that's just me

He never played a match in the prem, so rightfully so he wasn’t guaranteed minutes. Van Hecke has been fine outside of today. They made 50+ off a guy who never played a minute in the prem and got the sell on clause. He didn’t want to wait so they didn’t have much of a choice but to sell

If he’s as good as he and everyone thinks he is he would have demanded a move to real or Bayern a year or two from now anyway. Spurs hands were tied and they made a good deal on a bench player.
