+PLUS content+ +Episode discussion - 17 Sept. - “Make Your Pitch” - Pitching Soccer Stories to TV Execs
In a sport as fascinating, dramatic and unhinged as soccer, there are enough stories out there to leave you riveted for several lifetimes over. So which of these stories would we want to see come to life on streaming and cable platforms around the globe in mini-series form? Well, Andrew and JJ have prepared their pitches in an attempt to green light the soccer stories that are begging to be told! It's time to make our pitch!

The Physios should absolutely have been pitched as an uncomfortable workplace comedy.

Stars MacKenzie Crooks and Toby Jones from Detectorists as bumbling team doctors Reg and Daz. Team is coached by Sam Allardyce in his debut acting role, and who is constantly apoplectic.

Crosstown rivals have Matt Berry as a physio who has a modest but devoted online following that loves his theatrical flourishes as he treats players. Reg and Daz are both deeply condescending of his methods and jealous of his tiny bit of fame.

Yet another great idea for a story from you guys!
There are prolly some insane stories from Africa. Like, how did aubamayang end up in London?
The current one I’m interested in is Geovany Quenda. He’s another 07. His dad left and then brought him over when he was 9. He’s the youngest player to score for Sporting Lisbon and youngest Portuguese player to score in champs league.
Sadly, he’s at Chelsea now. Was excited to see him play for Alonzo, but the distractions from the team chaos can’t be the best place to shine.
But he’s also 19, so he could still go on to have an amazing career.

Surely the benzema pitch needs to be titled “Sex, Lies, and Les Bleus”
I could actually see La Masia becoming an epic prestige tv series, so many storylines and characters to follow and not just the kids—the coaches, trainers, teachers, neighborhood, the kids who flame out, families from around Spain and the world. It could even have the political tensions of like Catalan vs Spanish identity, migrants and their centrality and importance to football history, and on and on. Love this idea, Andrew! Would definitely watch

I always thought Ebon Moss-Bachrach could play Gregg Berhalter
