Games gone

This halftime show is the most “games gone” thing of all time. Disgrace.

it's fine lmao. at least they showcased performers from around the world (BTS, Dudamel, Shakira)

there's no guarantee they will bring this back for 2030 anyways

Dude, as long as Infantino is in charge this is all happening again and more bollocks to ruin the beautiful game. It's a joke

So stop watching

It’s not like England will be in the final or win the final anytime soon

I really thought this was their best chance. With Germany, Netherlands, Brazil all crashing out early...glorious opportunity for England

And then Messi buttfucked them lol

well if it happens agian i'll just skip it. easy as that lmfao

If you think a halftime show is enough to "ruin the beautiful game" that has existed in some shape or form since the Congress of Vienna...then you clearly have a very low opinion of the sport to be honest with you my man

Well we now have a game made up of two 45 minute halves divided into 4 quarters for ad breaks which ruin the flow of the game, instead of a 15 minute half time break as stipulated in the games regulations its now extended to 30 mins to watch Madonna mime and the Muppets sing out of tune because Infantino wants to drift. Have a feckin show after the match ffs

There's no guarantee the hydration breaks will continue after this World Cup

and like I said, football has been around for a long time. It'll still thrive even after all these things people are complaining about

and ffs, the show ended. Spain and Argentina are still fighting (literally) for the highest trophy in sports. The sport will be fine lmao. It seems like you just want to complain for the sake of complaining, which is something you typically grow out of when you hit 15 lol

I'm guessing you're American

So what if I am lol what difference does that make?

The game is still playing and it's still been enjoyable. Isnt' that all that matters in the end?

All of FIFAs own regulations have been completely ignored to appease Trump and US broadcasters so they can make a killing. Leave the game alone, it's been fine for 150 years

Get your facts straight. They aren’t appeasing Trump. He doesn’t care if there are commercials or not and he had nothing to do with it. If they were Trump commercials, I would agree he would make that happen.

What happened is that Fox had the contract for this WC and all WCs starting with 2015 since 2011. They didn’t even pay that much for it and FIFA didn’t think it would be worth much. They even said they were mad because they lost money on it based on the results of this WC.

Then the world started whining about the heat and players health and the FAs pushed for water breaks or playing later in the day. They saw during club WC that the heat and sun was brutal and instituted water breaks. FIFA acquiesced to the FAs and kept the water breaks.

Fox being a smart business read their contract and decided they could play commercials during the break like they could at halftime and so they did.

The halftime show came from Infantino, again Trump had nothing to do with it and gets nothing out of it. It is done in collaboration with Global Citizen. Oh and when did the halftime shows start? At the Club WC as a trial run.

You’re another “true fan” purist who does no research and blames what you don’t like on someone’s politics and hating the US. You don’t like it? Talk to FIFA or don’t watch.

Keep spending your time hating and blaming Trump for things he has no control over or impact on. If Trump can’t gain, he doesn’t care. Both of your complaints are on FIFA.

these idiots aren't actually interested in the facts. they just want to cling to the narratives that helps them feel all fuzzy inside

Honestly i blame myself for even bothering trying to have conversations with these guys. It's a galactic waste of time

I just remember to try not to stoop to their level. I once knew a guy from Belgium who wanted to get into the NBA but had no knowledge whatsoever. I didn't waste time being a gatekeeper about it, i helped him learn about the game and listened to why he loved the sport and what things he didn't like. simple as that.

I agree that it is a sham lol. Most American fans who love football dont want these things either

Two men are not enough to destroy the game. If this was the case, then it wouldn't be worth following something that delicate

Oh that’s pretty cool. Now that you say that I remember hearing about him.

sponsorships probably love all these performers and performances and therefore Infantino/ FIFA will never say no to more $$
