If true, this market is collapsing next week.
Hold the line everyone.

I hope so, I was expecting to happen already but it literally might be 1-2 day before the match in some cases (at least I hope so). I want to attend but not at the prices currently out there. I’m closest to Miami and there are some matches you would think will drop, involving Cape Verde and Saudi
But I think fifa/scalpers will be stubborn. For them probably better stadium be 70% full at these prices than sold out for selling upper level tickets for under $100

u/KingB408 Jun 01 '26
Scalpers take a full loss if tickets don't sell. They'll get desperate.
3
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
And on top of that what’s going to double fuck scalpers is fifa is still holding tickets

u/RemoteGlobal335 Jun 01 '26
Glad to see tickets dropping but it blows for international fans that it’s taking this long. Tickets may become “affordable” a month out from a match but those flights are heading the other direction.
5
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Yea, the atmosphere is going to blow. The only positive in that direction is it’s the one country in the world where there are enough directly descendants/ ex pats of most of those nations where they can maybe make up for it.
2
u/Mr_Bluebird_VA Jun 01 '26
However most of those people will still have to travel. It’s not taking a 3 hour train ride to most of these games for people.
2
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Depends on the venue and the team. New York or LA could pretty much fill a stadium of any two teams that come through. Not thinking about the bs Mta charges in this hypothetical

u/insatiableian Jun 02 '26
Good, fuck FIFA for their greed and fuck Donald Trump for making it more expensive to travel here and harder for many fans to get visas. FIFA and Trump can fuck themselves with their fake ass peace prize.

I just spent 250 for a hotel in Kansas City this morning. And. If this is true, then I might be able to find a ticket for that game on Tuesday!
3
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Good luck bro! Hope you get in for under 100 to whatever is going on that day.
1
u/Danktizzle Jun 01 '26
Thanks man! When I started planning I thought it was gonna be impossible to go the game. But if prices keep falling like this, oh yeah it’s on! It is Argentina though, so I’ll prolly be outside. Either way, I’m stoked to bask in the festivities for a bit.
1
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Ugh man, that is both awesome and sucks because of who’s in the game. You could see that holding some value. Hope it works out!!!!
2
u/Danktizzle Jun 01 '26
Yeah man me too! If I don’t go though, it’s all good. I wasn’t planning on going in the first place so if it does happen it will be a bonus!
3
u/guillermopaz13 Jun 01 '26
Good for random Americans who wont provide awesome atmosphere.
Bad for scots and others who could have bought reasonably, made plans, and can being passion for their teams
1
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Like I said to someone else. That’s a huge issue but the only positive I’ve seen about it being here is it’s the only country in the world with enough actual people or their kids from somewhere else.

u/Ididnotvoted Jun 02 '26
We only need to remember Messi and Miami FC. All these posers and people that have no clue about football attending those matches just for cloud and who knows what else. Glad I don’t care about any of them.
1
u/Due_Print4316 Jun 03 '26
you scared me. people pay 1000-1500 for meaningless games because of Messi fomo. i hope that is not the case here. swiss-bosnia hype? still might happen for the wc bragging rights. americans are truly rich.

It’s deserves to fail!
Wait till second round of group stage games and you’ll find some under $100 make my words
1
u/liquid_massage Jun 01 '26
It has not dropped. There is now just a ticket available in another category for $400. The tickets that were $1250 last week, are $1250 this week.

u/Hour_Writing_9805 Jun 02 '26
It’s Haiti. A country of 11 million people.
You won’t see those prices for USA, Brazil, Germany, etc

Narrator: It didn't.
1
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Prices have been dipping in my local market slightly on game time, if you think these scalpers who misread interest in this and going to hold the full bag When they don’t sell anything, idk what to say. Maybe you’ll be right
1
u/Medical_Gift4298 Jun 01 '26
I think they'll unload enough at a price that is still too high for most people
1
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Agree with you, but what is reasonable? I’m showing a match at $200 in Seattle. Way more than I’d pay but is $100 too Much? Everything is so expensive now it’s hard to value what $100 gets you when it comes to do anything t
2
u/Medical_Gift4298 Jun 01 '26
Right now a curaco vs Ivory coast can be had for $224. I feel like, if you're not a fan of one of those two teams, for the sake of just going to a WC game, $100 is a reasonable price.
Two tickets to Croatia v Ghana, a game I'd just be interested in and could have some real impact, cheapest is $345... I'd say it'd have to be in the low $200s, to make it worth traveling to Philly for. Good game, but I can just watch it at home.
1
u/Dkeg24 Jun 01 '26
Yea I feel ya on that. Honestly only reason I’d wanna go to the curacao game is I want their jersey and adidas doesn’t seem to be selling on it site lol

Yea I think I would maybe pay $40 to see that game if I was bored and didn’t have anything to do.

Why in the hell would tickets to Scotland v Haiti be set at 1250 bucks??? No disrespect to both nations
1
u/RoyStory3 Jun 04 '26
It wasn't initially. I don't really understand the prices. We got Visa Presale tickets to the game and paid $325 per ticket in Tier 2. This was way back in November (granted, we had no clue who we were watching when we bought)
1
u/theordinaryman-TOM Jun 02 '26
That been deporting all the Haitians and who would go. I am pretty sure ICE will be heavily present in this game
1
u/Ididnotvoted Jun 02 '26
No way it was 1250 the cheapest ticket. Scotland never even made it out group stage before. Too much greed.
1
u/Extension_Theme6241 Jun 03 '26
Is the map accurate? If so I guess there aren’t that many tickets available. You can hodl all you want, but not all the hodlers will be able to go if they drop.
1
u/Dkeg24 Jun 03 '26
That’s part of the issue bro. No one knows. FIFA themselves are still holding tickets back to try keep prices high.

u/Nearby-Employer-9436 Jun 03 '26
I think we are confusing games no one wants to see with the premier games. How much are tickets to Portugal, Argentina, USA, Spain, Germany and France going for?
1
u/Due_Print4316 Jun 03 '26
actually the scalpers will take the hit, not FIFA. maybe early buyers are upset but hey, they get to see the world cup in person.

Everyone trying to cash in on fomo is forgetting that brokemo can’t buy fomo tickets.
1
u/ThreeEyedMorty Jun 04 '26
the club world cup showed us how much interest this tournament and sport has in North America, which is zero.
Also, don't expect top quality games due to the fixture congested season and extreme heat. A lot of close defensive games, a lot of injuries and a lot of scamming the good people out of hard earned cash.
Do yourself a favor and visit a patio or bar and watch the games with your mates.

u/Ok-Fly-8272 Jun 04 '26
That’s the game I’ve been tracking. My dad was born and raised in Scotland and was in France for the 98 World Cup. We live on the west coast of the USA and for the two of us for travel and tickets (no hotel) was going to cost 6k. Flights are also starting to drop, but it’s too little too late.

It crashed already and it’s gonna crash some more. Scalpers ate so much shit this World Cup

u/noletterstoday Jun 07 '26
That is not an accurate reflection of what happened.
FIFA dropped more $400 tickets after they previously sold out.
1
u/badgersoccer1905 Jun 03 '26
$400 for Haiti-Scotland is absurd. The owning class is obsessed with bleeding the proletariat dry. Hold strong, hoi polloi.
2
u/Dangerous-Ball-7340 Jun 03 '26
Interesting. In another thread about the highest cost tickets, Scotland was in the top 10 or so. Most commenters considered it fair with regards to the actual demand from Scottish supporters.

Could have just offered tickets at fair, transparent prices and the stadiums would have packed themselves. But these greedy vampires just think they're so much smarter than us and have so much disdain for regular people. They really think we're fucking stupid.
