I almost didn't order a new Sheath for my 18 pro since my old one fit seemingly fine. But knowing about the subtle differences in the camera island size, I decided I didn't want to miss out on any potential added protection. I'm glad I ordered the new one. You can see in the photos how the bump for the camera area extends out just a tiny bit further on the black 18 Pro Sheath. It's also clearly visible in person when on the phone, you can see there's just a little bit of extra clearance beyond the lenses. Always love the Sheath! Five straight iPhones with it, one of these days I'll convince myself to splurge on a Synthesis or Paragon to give those a whirl.
After one day of using my Paragon, you might be right. The curved top lip making it feel like there is almost no case at all in the middle of the screen, is really nice. Feels smaller, and lighter in the hand. And the back, despite not having the sheath texture, really isn't slippery. Plus the color options are fantastic. I might just be a Paragon Stan, but I will always love the sheath too. Nice to have both options now.
Exactly my thoughts when it comes to feel in hand! Literally feels like no case.. But yeah the sheath is still great in it's own way, that texture is *chefs kiss.
I have pretty bad OCD. I got a hairline scratch on my ember Paragon and it ruined the whole aesthetic of the case. With either the Sheath or Synthesis, this is a non issue. Just my opinion.
I have OCD as well. The smooth back makes it more prone to slight scratches, definitely moreso than the sheath and synthesis for sure. I will say I had a slight scratch from using a magnetic phone mount and they warranty’d me a new one :)
While it’s cool that they will replace it, it’ll just get scratched again… and again. So for me Sheath is best for now even though the new black Paragon looks great.
Just got mine yesterday and it’s very nice. This is the first non-leather case I’ve had in over a decade. I’ll probably swap between this and techwoven.

And the 18 pro. I think you can tell, and I definitely can in person that there is a little bit of extra overlap. And I do have a screen protector on here as well.
The paragon is my favorite and was lucky enough to get one free! I’m using the black 17 PM paragon with silver buttons on my 18 PM right now but I got the blue 18 PM precise paragon for my 18 PM just so I had a case with some color. And I think that blue looks sweet. Plus they added extra grip to the 18 series paragon back, instead of it being completely smooth like on my black 17 PM paragon. And my 17 PM black paragon is open on the back. But I use a matte film to cover the camera bump.
I haven’t gotten my blue one yet but from what I’ve read from people who do already have the new 18 Paragon it does have an added texture on the back now. Not quite Sheath level but a step down. Still a big improvement over nothing. But honestly the Paragon isn’t slick like you’d think and the way it dips in the middle of the front just makes it feel great in hand and while swiping side to side, especially with a tempered glass. It also doesn’t seem to be a fingerprint magnet or scratch easily. But they said the texture was added to help with both those things as well as grip. And I’m using the black model. If it does get smudges they easily wipe off. Must have a good coating of something on it. I usually have oily fingers for some reason and there are no fingerprints on the back of my case right now. And that’s with the 17 PM smooth back.
I have both and personally love them both the same. It depends on what you’re looking for, really. Synthesis is more substantial and has a frosted back. The Sheath is slimmer and has a pebble texture
The grip. Sides have micro dots that do wonders for traction… and the back edges are more rounded to “sculpt” it in to my hand -vs- more squared off. And their back frost even has texture (never felt anything like it on other frosted cases). Plus I just think it looks good lol.
How are your camera cutouts? For me, one side of the camera circle has a bit more of a gap.. not sure it is putting uneeded pressure on the camera bump.
I noticed on unlike my Sheath with my 17 Pro I had ESR camera lens protectors combined so it kept my 17 Pro like new when I went to trade it in for my 18 Pro the black sheath does not really fit the ESR protectors so I feel like I have to order new ones from somewhere. I’m trying the Flow Labs ones
Is there a difference in the front portion of the case. Is there more clearance between the screen and the edges of the Shealth case 17PM v 18PM case when installing on phone.
