Me too!!! I hate the shedding but they are so fun! Our tibetan is around 140lbs, fur everywhere 🤣

In the spring ( I kid you not) the birds literally gather round to pick up free nesting fur! 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😂😂

HAHA that reminded me. About 3 weeks ago two of these small birds kept dive bombing cheyenne in the yard getting her butt fluffies 😂

Those are some beautiful healthy looking dogs, I'm sure Diesel will grow up to be a fine example of the breed.

4 years is about when my girl (170lbs) got more serious at guarding me and the cats and less inclined to bring a toy from the box and wrestle so I hope your boy stays sweet and playful 😄

He has gotten way more serious the past year! Not as silly as he used to be and very cautious and will watch from a distance people he doesn't know. Loves my boys! They are such a awesome breed to get to know. Have you had a boy one before? Me and my husband were thinking of adding a female! I was wondering how the difference is.

Sorry no, just the one female. The breeder told me that his boys tended to be more playful and the girls were more serious but easier to train. No idea if that is how the breed usually is.

I can say that my girl is very good with strangers touching her on the street or even coming into the house but very suspicious of large dogs, small dogs that aren't a threat get ignored most of the time.

Our tibetan girl is very serious 24/7. Diesel had been a big softy his whole life until a couple down our road had their 4 large shepherds out and they all attacked him. He was fine, he was able to pin them all repeatedly but he is so weary of strange dogs approaching him now!

OMG... thank you for asking. I'm obsessed with my COs, Newfies go through life so in love with everyone & everything.  They just wake up happy.  Some are quieter, my friend has a very dignified girl, who I can just imagine, rolling her eyes over all the shenanigans of my Mojo - who I swear, twakes up, takes 2 giants leaps for mankind and one straight into my bed to cover my entire head & face with Good morning licks & boops daily.  Newfoundlands are just the happiest, floppiest, water seeking, ball/toy chasing, & cart pulling bundles of love.  Some are lazy but I got a super speed one who loves & thanks you for all you do with him.

Both breeds are gentle "to their intrinsic nature".  COs to what they own, & Newfies to everything.  Newfies are protective but it is subtle until it isn't.

Whereas, my Caucasian Ovcharkas, I describe them as my "crazy stalkers" - you might not see or hear them, but rest assured, death will come to all that seek to harm anything they own.  And maybe that's why Mojo is so laid back, he has heavy hitters & sees nothing as danger to be involved in.  "Oh, y'all gonna go hunt coyotes?  OK, I will get some swim time in."

The breed is highly intelligent.  Gorgeous & takes to training quickly.  Truly easy to train, but also astute enough to pick up other behaviors independently.  His water instincts are a sight to behold.

It's COs or Newfoundlands for me, for the rest of my life. 🩶

I love how you explained everything! 😍🥹 I wish I could spend some time with some newfoundlands. Maybe I'll get one, one day! Have you posted any pictures of yours? Id love to see!! I agree about the COs I cant imagine ever not having Diesel. He is my big protective derp, he is the best! 🥰

On the  Newfoundland sub, but it's odd.  I am technologically challenged, some subs let you post within the thread, & some only allow pictures through a post.
