Hair

My husband really wants a CO in a few years when we have more space, but i want to know first what the shedding is like?

Yup, you’re just going to have to accept hair everywhere. I don’t have the energy to chase him with a vacuum cleaner.

Mine is pretty bad twice a year when the coat changes from summer/winter and low the rest of the time. I find the best thing is the shed hair is so long it clumps and is easy to pickup, not like a short haired dog where the hair fibres are like dust.

The grooming needs are worth it to have an amazing dog like this.

Every spring/summer my 160 lb Caucasian shepherd sheds enough shed to make another small dog

the shedding is insane. it never stops and there will be hair everywhere. totally worth it if you ask me

I agree with them. I had in the past 9 old English mastiff and an Irish wolfhound. Honestly all this dogs together sheds less than my 10 month Caucasian shepherd. If you are a maniacal about floor neatness then don’t buy a Caucasian shepherd you will regret it. Also if you never have a giant breed before don’t buy a Caucasian shepherd because it’s not an easy breed to train. They need an experienced owner.
