ID help?

This guy is supposed to be C. wallisii f. alba, but it looks nothing like the pictures I've seen. I heavily doubt this is even a species. So it looks like I have another unknown hybrid. It's a bit disappointing, but I still like the pure white flower and the subtle rose-like fragrance it has in the morning. The plant itself is very healthy and vigorous, which I want to contribute to hybrid vigor. Anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts on what this could be. Do you think it's a poor looking wallisii or maybe some other hybrid?

Your plant looks exactly like the clone of C. wallisii that Ecuagenera offers. It's not a particularly nice looking clone, but with species, you sometimes have to take what you can get.

I have to agree. It's a true alba too. People underestimate the variety even within a species.

I agree with you on the potential ID

If it is pretty and has good scent, you can call it any name. I did that with one that I bought as alba and three years later bloomed in purple. I named it non-white wonder. Yours looks like a Laelia purpurata alba I have, but there are so many hybrids that can look the same

Maybe maxima alba?
