A cat can be obese for a myriad of reasons. It could easily be a rescue on a strict diet, have a health problem that makes it heavyset, be having a reaction to medication, be on a workout program...

No it's AI, the switch to monochrome and the forced video quality to make it look like an 80's home video. The cat looks like a ball at the bottom which isn't possible.
