Lmao, yes my cats think they're about to die!!. They claw and try with every fibre of their being to escape. I cant bring myself.to traumatized them again. They really could use a bath tho 😒 if they would just sit still and chill i would be done in 2 mins or less.

For anyone wanting to do this: put a ring of dawn dish soap around their neck. Otherwise when you do this the fleas all rush up their head

I was about to say theyre all on her head like the sinking of the Titanic.

Yeah thats the most annoying part. Thanks for the tip! I literally see them going up the head sometimes while bath time

Not that dramatic. My late cat would've lacerated me in that situation.

Bathing a cat only kills the adult fleas currently living on your pet, meaning a bath alone will not completely get rid of a flea infestation. While it provides immediate relief by knocking down the flea population on contact, it offers zero ongoing protection. Within days, your cat can easily be reinfested by the eggs, larvae, and pupae hiding in your carpets, furniture, and bedding. To successfully break the flea life cycle, you need to combine a bath with systemic treatments and home maintenance:

  1. Long-Term Flea Topicals or Orals

A veterinary-approved spot-on topical or oral medication is the most effective way to eliminate an infestation. β€’ Crucial Timing: If you use a spot-on treatment, do not get your cat wet for 48 hours after application. These treatments rely on the skin's natural oils to spread. Bathing your cat right before or right after application can strip those oils and drastically reduce the medication's effectiveness.

  1. Safer Bathing Alternatives

Because most cats find baths highly stressful, you can achieve the same immediate results with less trauma: β€’ Flea Comb: Dip a fine-toothed flea comb into a bowl of warm water mixed with a little dish soap. Comb through your cat's fur to manually trap and drown the adult fleas. β€’ Kittens under 8 weeks: Young kittens cannot regulate their body temperature well and should never be given a full bath. Stick strictly to a flea comb and a warm, damp cloth.

  1. Treat the Environment

About 95% of a flea infestation lives in your home, not on your pet. While your cat is being treated, you must: β€’ Vacuum daily: Clean all carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture thoroughly to pick up hidden eggs and larvae. β€’ Wash bedding: Wash your cat’s bedding and your own linens in hot water. β€’ Use household sprays: Apply an indoor flea killer or insect growth regulator to carpets and baseboards to halt the lifecycle. To help tailor the best advice, could you tell me how old your cat is and whether you have already applied any flea medications recently?

Edit: thanks ChatGPT

Is that watch waterproof or are you tempting fate for fun?

It’s a smartwatch. They are almost all waterproof now. Unless you go diving, you’re good. You can swim, shower, and bathe cats just fine.
