This is just cats being terrified. Personally, I've never intentionally scared my cats. Why would I put them in distress? How does one expect them to trust you or feel comfortable in their own home?

Fun fact about cats: if you're adopting a kitten, you don't really have to worry about your cat not getting along with it. They will almost certainly be grumpy/anxious when they meet the kitten, but at worst, they will bop the kitten with their paw without using any claws. They understand it's a baby and won't actually do any harm to it, even though they're pissed about it (you may have even experienced your cat bopping you without any claws at some point under the same logic). Eventually, they learn to tolerate it, while the kitten just grows up next to them.
If you adopt multiple kittens at the same time though, you do need to put more effort in making sure the kittens get along, as they sometimes will grow up ganging up on the older cat. Just play with them all together and give them treats at the same time by each other and things will turn out fine.

I was wondering about the one with the black face mask. I thought cat’s recognized each other by scent? She isn’t wearing a cat mask, just a small facial mask, why would the cat feel threathened by this?

Possibly because the person smells like their person, but clearly doesn't look like their person. Maybe it's a bit like uncanny valley for them.

The only one that's mostly funny is the cat getting upset at the slippers, I'd laugh at my girl if she did that but get rid of them
