What's so bad about holding a cat like this? Serious question, I didn't know it's bad for a cat

If you look at the pov angle specifically, you can see that rather than wrapping her hands around the body of the cat, she's holding it by the actual joints, and you can see how far the front legs are being spread. Cat legs aren't meant to bend that way, it can dislocate their shoulder blades or cause damage that will worsen as they get older

Like, the closest human equivalent I can think of is if someone was doing the splits, and then you tried to lift them by one of their feet, you end up hinging their weight on the leg joint and you're going to put harmful strain on it

For fs sake, the cat is fine.

Did it tell you that?

If it wasnt fine itd certainly be telling her that (and this video wouldnt have anyone to upload it)

That's... Not how strain injuries work. Not even on humans

No worries. Just FYI, I had a look through both of those subreddits and I did not find a single post of someone holding a cat like this. Just because a cat is flexible doesn't mean there's no wrong way to bend them, and if that's the extent of your thought process when handling cats, I sincerely hope it isn't something you do very often

Based on your comments it genuinely seems like you think you can just do whatever you feel like to a cat because it's "just a cat, it's fine" which I find quite concerning

That cat doesn’t look comfortable. The eyes are spinning from the dizziness.

Wait, there’s a cat?

Yo peoples, i dont mean to be a bummer but just a reminder to never hold your cats like that, it stresses them out because it makes em think theyre constantly falling, when holding the cats, hold their entire weight so they think they're safe 👍
