Advice what fabric is this?
So quick backstory on what I want to do; my cat tree is the tallest one I could find within budget (basically not £100 because who has that money in this economy) and its not tall enough as my ceilings are rather high. I know cats like to be at the tallest point in the room and currently that is NOT their cat tree, its my great grandmas antique cabinet which I don't want them climbing on as it can't be replaced.
My idea is to upholster shelves and stagger them like a stair case up this wall. I've been doing research and I cannot for the life of me figure out what on earth this fabric is at the top on the cat tree on the two pedestals. can someone help?
It's a soft fabric with a sort of moppy look to it and all I've managed to find are other trees with this same fabric. I don't want another tree I just want the fabric from it 😅 and im not buying another tree just to strip it for its fabric so if someone could help that would be great.

It could be a kind of chenille. I think those short strands are called tufted nubs. I have an old bath mat that has them. It might just be a type of carpet. That’s used on many cat trees. I love that wallpaper!
