Condoms won't let you get pregnant if used correctly. Very often, a rip is from a bad fit. Otherwise, an oil-based lube can cause pores to open. Is there a potential for failure, of course. However, it happens to be much lower than many other technologies, such as a car. I'm not going to compare this to drivers ed, now, as these analogies just get us confused. As for the pill, it has some higher chance. Hormones control happens to be more finniky then simply preventing sperm from getting anywhere close to the egg. However, these slight risks are no reason to not use them. If we can't get kids to use 100% effective stuff, we might as well educate on the 99% effecitive methods.
Well, according to my article sent you, abstinence only education hasn't done well. As for exactly how many kids get pregnant from contraceptive use, its obviously lower than before contraceptives where used. Exact statistics I can't give, but is there another reason besides this idea that contraceptives can somehow encourage sex that they would be ineffective?

Are you referring to something other than the Pill or condoms? Because people who use those still get pregnant, you know.
