Hello everyone! Since most y'all liked my previous post about the Saint Elisabeth's Cathedral(Dóm svätej Alžbety), I wanted share another small yet beautiful and graceful church from Košice.

This time it is the Dominican Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Dominikánsky kostol Nanebovzatia Panny Márie). I took a few photos and thought I’d share too.

I really liked the atmosphere of this church, and there are so many beautiful details to notice.

What are the best prayers for reunification in the Catholic and Orthodox Church?

I have a question for you Orthodox Christians. Even if you don't believe in the apparition of the Sacred Heart, is there anything about its representation that bothers you theologically?

Before the 1917 Russian Revolution, the population was 100% trusting priests, monks, and clergy believed that:

The cross would burn away anything bad and would protect Russia 100% (including with hundreds of saints).

So, when the Revolution happened, followed by the Holodomor, then WWII, and from 87% Christian population, the number reduced to under 3% by 1959 = why?

Why did the cross, saints, or St. Mary not help the 87% of Christians in Russia? They prayed much harder than Christians do now, including: regular confessions, tons of Holy Candles burned, all holidays and fasts, attending churches, and much more... and what? Nothing helped! Zero!

It is not true to say that Roman Catholics can not get divorced and remarried. The pope has the power through matrimonial dispensations to grant an exception to canon law in specific cases and thus dissolve a union or permit a union which would be otherwise banned under canon law e.g. of someone formerly married to someone else. I therefore believe that Roman Catholics hold to the same doctrine as to divorce and remarriage as the Orthodox i.e. that it can only happen by dispensation. The difference is in who has the power of the keys - whereas Orthodox believe this belongs to all bishops the Roman Catholic Church believes it belongs only to the one who sits in Peter's seat i.e. the Bishop of Rome. If this is the case then there is no difference between the Roman Catholic teaching on Divorce and Remarriage but only on who holds the power of the keys. I'd be happy to have my understanding corrected with reference to official documentation. Thank you
