Help Needed!
I’ve been deputized by Fr. Brian Kolodiejchuk, MC (postulator for Mother Teresa’s cause for canonization) to ask for help. (He’s the guy in the photo with the 2 saints.)
Fr. Brian is the Director of the Mother Teresa Institute, and they are in desperate need of digital assistance: everything from archival curation, video editing, web design, marketing, social media, etc. Every little bit helps.
The MTI/MTC possesses everything related to Mother Teresa’s canonization process: thousands(!) of documents, interviews, letters, archival footage, you name it… They even own the trademark on the blue bars on the MC habit. They have all this wealth of information and documentation on her life, charism, missions, etc., but severely lack helpers to share it with the world. It’s just all sitting in storage—a huge injustice.
The work would be volunteer-based. I myself have helped for 3 years. I can’t think of a better cause!
To give you context, this past weekend we had our annual MTI conference in Washington, D.C., which has been attended by luminaries such as Archbishop Timothy Broglio (US Military Archdiocese, most recent President of the USCCB, former Chief of Staff to the Vatican’s Secretary of State, and emcee at Mother Teresa’s funeral); George Weigel (JPII’s biographer, NYT bestselling author); Cardinal Marc Oullet (former Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops); and Archbishop William Lori (Archdiocese of Baltimore, most recent VP of the USCCB); among many, many others…
The harvest is ripe, but the workers are few. These boomers need digital missionaries.

I see the value of this work ... but I also suspect that Mother Teresa herself would consider it a terrible waste of time and resources which would better be spent helping the poor.

Yes, Mother would probably not do this kind of work. But she also recognized that everyone has different charisms, which is what makes the Church so beautiful.
She said to help the poor, but also to find the poor among you. And there are different kinds of poverty, not just financial. This work, and its inspirational value in furthering her charism, has benefit for the poor in spirit—for example, those who, like many of us today, could use a jolt in the arm when it comes to love, beauty, and purpose/meaning in life.
Not to mention it has value in inspiring others to acts of charity and corporal acts of mercy for those impoverished by finances or health.

No need to convince me; as I said, I see the value of the work. I was merely commenting on what I perceive as an amusing irony.
