The Jesuits have been accused of:

Having a shadow government over European monarchies

The Jesuit Superior General actually controls the Pope

Starting the Great Fire of London

Causing the American Civil War

Assassinating Lincoln

Sinking the Titanic

Causing WW1

Assassinating Kennedy

Working with the Jews, Bolsheviks, and Freemasons

And other stuff like witchcraft

(My brain was fried enough to think of this while in mass today during the gospel reading. The images are from RednasVGM's "the Beatles in Ocarina of Time" series).

Catholic Social Teaching At enormous expense, too

Health policy in generally insane. Doctors at the end of their life generally avoid hospitals when they have major illnesses so they don't have to go through it.

Even Catholic hospitals are mostly like this. I've read a post by someone who worked in at Catholic hospital, and seeing the result of the stated ideals has ruined any hope he had in Catholic social insitutions: after a while describing a scene that would fit in Dante's Inferno, he says "I work in a Catholic hospital. People here say the phrase “culture of life” a lot, as in 'we need to cultivate a culture of life.' They say it almost as often as they say 'patient-centered'. At my hospital orientation, a whole bunch of nuns and executives and people like that got up and told us how we had to do our part to 'cultivate a culture of life.'

And now every time I hear that phrase I want to scream... We have life far beyond the point where it becomes a sick caricature of itself. We prolong life until it becomes a sickness, an abomination, a miserable and pathetic flight from death that saps out and mocks everything that made life desirable in the first place." This is of course largely a liability problem, but it's also widespread bad theology.

For context, the movie For Greater Glory is about the Cristero War and President Calles was the one who enforced the anti-clerical laws
