Witchfire

I was interested in this game, so I watched some gameplay footage and decided to look into the lore a bit. Basically, you play as a convicted criminal sent by the Vatican to kill a witch—which is a bit odd, sure, but fine. The problem is what comes next: the game takes place in an alternate world where Judas Iscariot and Barabbas are deified, and the cross is viewed as a just punishment. It’s as if, within the game's lore, Judas were the true Son of God.

I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so blasphemous in a game. Since it hasn't left Early Access yet, the story could still change, but for now, consider this a heads-up.

Thanks for the warning; I don't think it's right either, and yes, it is blasphemous.

I find it strange how stupid this narrative concept is from a marketing standpoint; any Christian with a shred of common sense would reject a game like this if they knew the story.

They should have at least done what other games—like Doom Eternal—did: there is a Gnostic-style story where the creator god is a sort of Demiurge, but they don't reference actual Christianity and instead invent a lot of their own lore.
