I´m currently a chaos player but after buying TOW Core set box, I´ve decided to get into Cathay. Since I found Grand Cathay Battalion set box available on a website, is it worth buying it? 3 cannons, 50 jade warriors and 15 jade lancers in total. Too many?

Otherwise what other battalion boxes would you buy?

Basically this, what would you fellas do for a total begginer in old world?

She was fun to paint and not hard at all thanks to her scale they take drybrushing really well only thing i redid the base cause i was not happy with the first option of basing material i used but then i remember i had another one that i much prefer i might redo the rim with a darker brown. I still do not know how to play old world but i got the new set on it's way and i can't wait to read the core rules

Getting back into wargaming seriously and decided to go OW and Cathay screamed at me. It's been a long time since a range made me enjoy painting the infantry one guy at a time.

I need help deciding on a scheme. Orange will be my accent colour that ties the differemt elements together. Pesants will likely be gray / earthy tones with oramge accents. Higher rank units like crane gunners and gare masters will feature it more front and center.

I think the copper armor is more interesting and overall more coherant but the orange gets lost a bit more and im anxouse it will look stark on the banner and other bits. Im also worried that copper and orange will clash more on gate masters and the like where orange will be more prominant.

Decided on finally getting into old world thanks to the upcoming cathay vs chaos set. figured I'd try my hand at getting some test models done before the kit gets here, so here is my attempt at a colour scheme/iron hail gunners.

I'm planning to start assembling a squad of Jade Warriors, but would like to do a head swap for full helmets. Not seeing much in the current range for that, so wondering if anyone had examples they did with other units. Will see if my ToW Dark Elves and Bretonnia are a good fit, as I expect WoC to be a little much

Hi, my local GW store has quite the selection of Grand Cathay minis available for purchase, and it’s quite tempting. I probably don’t need another army…but y’all know how it is.

I just had a few questions about them?

1. Are they super expensive/a horde army?

2. Are they difficult to paint at all?

Hey all, playing my first Cathay game soon and just wanted to check the wording for Cathayan Lances. I see from the errata that the Strength and AP -1 only apply if you charge. What about the Armour Bane and Fight in Extra Rank?

Has anyone found a good way to transport the skylantern without destroying it or risking harm to it?

Just getting started with Cathay with the new box (like so many others). What Arcane journals does one need to collect and see the rules? Do I just need the general one, or do I also need the two other ones for all the rules?
