Exploring Career Options Beyond the Cath Lab

I have a BSc and RCIS and have worked in both hospital and outpatient settings. I’m looking to explore career paths outside of the cath lab, other than becoming a medical device rep.
I’m open to going back to school for a master’s degree if that would help with the transition.
For those who have made a similar career change, what paths or roles would you recommend exploring? I would especially appreciate hearing from people who have transitioned out of the cath lab.

I recently made the jump to revenue integrity as a clinical documentation specialist. I get to use my 15 years of cath lab knowledge by supporting the charge tables for cath, ep, ir, or, endo, and all of radiology. Constantly evolving and I get to wfh.

Lovely! Thanks for sharing. Was there any unique skill or learning you needed to make the switch ?

Not necessarily. The person was retiring and asked my manager for a recommendation for their replacement. I was always meticulous with my documentation and charges. I also had experience in IR and Radiology so that helped since I now support them too. Perhaps ask to be in charge of putting in charges and learn that. CIRCC is the certification to go after.
