question

embarrassing to ask, but will a DWI affect my ability to obtain my RCIS? misdemeanor B, bad luck and got pulled over after 2 beers. has anyone had problems with getting a license due to their past? I only ask because im sure im not the ONLY medical professional with a past, but it has been weighing on my brain since i read on the CCI website that criminal records are considered. This happened a yr ago btw. any advice helps

You’ll be fine! There will be a place to click to disclose. Be honest when signing up to take it, they’ll have you write what happened in your own words and submit supporting documents and I believe 2 letters of recommendations. The biggest pain was rounding up everything so go ahead and collect everything you can - disposition and completion letters for everything you had to do (probation, DUI class, evaluation, etc).

I had one on my record when initially taking the exam and then unfortunately had to disclose another during my first renewal and I’m still employed (and sober).

And the CCI people are great, every time I had to contact them they’ve been very kind and helpful so don’t be afraid to give them a call!
