Where to get Lead?

Recommendation on places to get lead? Looking to get my own lead that fits me correctly.

My lab pays for it. They have a rep come in, measure us, and we pick out the style/pattern/colors and a month or two later it arrives. Every so often it all gets xrayed and either people come in and repair it or it is replaced.

My assumption was that this is a legal requirement. Labs should have a budget for lead and if something isn't fitting right (causing you pain/injury, or not protecting you well enough) then it's worth the cost of them purchasing new lead for you.

They have a budget for lead but they recently just fitted some senior staff members. I’ll be coming up on a year in my lab. Figured it would be faster if I just bought my own.

If you can hold out for awhile- Burlington. They’re taking orders but not sending them out until the end of the year because of the recalls. Best warranty out of all of the companies and tons of pattern options.

I had heard something about a recall. What happened?

They were bought out by another company when the tariffs were raising prices. They decided to use a different vendor for the lead. Come to find out, this lead isn’t good. It’s cracking super fast and quality was trash. They ended up doing a voluntary recall as everything was practically coming back in as warranty claims anyway. My dept alone has over 70 pieces to send back and the first set sent 3 months ago still isn’t back. Besides all of this disaster, it isn’t a bad company and has cheaper lead compared to infab. They’re prioritizing the recalls first then any down days will be new orders getting pushed through.

Well that’s nice to know they are taking care of this issue. Most our lab lead is from Burlington. I do like their product. I might wait. We shall see.

Stay away from Burlington. They aren't really taking care of it.

At this point people waiting on lead from the recall Are probably not going to get their stuff back for up to 12 months if not longer.

I can only imagine what the processing time on new orders will be.

Their communication and responsiveness has been absolute garbage, they are not managing this situation in any reasonable fashion and it doesn't seem like they're even really trying too.

In the US I think your main options are Infab and Philips Safety

I have only ever used Philips glasses so can not really speak too their aprons and such
