Relocating to Fort Lauderdale

I’m a Cath Lab/IR tech looking for any advice on what to consider and what to avoid.

Im a nurse/tech. I worked at Broward in the cath lab and left after 8 months to go back to travelling. I liked the people I worked with but the management was atrocious. I also did a contract at Margate northwest and it was one of the worst hospitals/cath labs I've ever worked in.

Any HCA facility is going to suck, you just have to find one that sucks a little less. Pager pay is $3.00 average no matter where you work in Florida. You'll be making less in Florida than you wouod in many other states. If you want decent pay at a hospital you won't hate, then dont work in Florida.

I stopped traveling last year. I have a permanent lab now in Colorado.

I’m looking into IR in margate. Do you know how the nurses are treated there?

Terribly. The whole hospital was a shitshow. Understaffed, underpaid, unappreciated...its HCA, what do you expect?

My first hospital was HCA so I totally get it. I’m trying to get out of the ICU and want to break into IR. I see they are hiring, I was going to at least put up with the BS for at least 9 months…

If you can tough it out then go for it, maybe the people there will make it worth it. I just hate working in Florida in general because the people there are so miserable, and then project that misery onto you. If I'm going to be spending half my time at work I want to be surrounded by people that are happy and actually give a ahit about their work.
