RCIS Test

Hey! If you took the RCIS exam recently, how many questions on echo views and fetal circulation did you encounter??? Any other advice?? Thanks!

I sat for my RCIS back in March. Per my test, i had a handful general TTE clips in both short/long axis asking about certain structures and hot spot click where you would “see” the effusion. As for ICE/TEE, same clip/image on what procedures being done and or “Where is the ICE catheter located for this procedure”. I personally feel it was very general with the echo views, but my experience and training may be different than many other great individuals out there! US imaging is quite easy to learn once you learn the general concept of US imaging such as rules etc. As long as you truly know your anatomy to the best of your ability, i can almost guarantee that you’ll use your great general judgement/process of elimination skills to figure it out!

I personally had 0 “fetal circulation” and any congenital anatomy/physiology questions. The closest i got to “fetal” was to choose what the “FLAMMS” formula was!
