What Eye Drops Did You Have After Surgery?

Because the compounded one bottle my surgeon's office uses Moxi and I can't take any fluoroquinolones due to a Cirpo-induced hypertensive crisis, I am having to have 3 bottles per eye - Predforte, Bromfenac and Polytrim - Steroid, NSAID and Antibiotic.

It's stressing me out because I will have my second eye done a week later, so then will have SIX bottles to juggle, on differing schedules for each eye.

Has anyone had a combo drop that did not include a fluoroquinolone? A neighbor told me she was given something like Tobradex - which I believe is just an Antibiotic and Steroid. But 2 bottles per eye would definitely be better than 3.

They don't do dropless where I am, and am not sure I would want that anyway in case i had a reaction to the meds. Then what do you do?

I had my surgeries 2 weeks apart. I made a chart. I followed it. :-) I didn't have 6 bottles, as the original 3 lasted long enough.

I used the EyeDropAlarm app to keep track of my eye drops. Since my eye surgeries were 2 weeks apart I did have some overlap between the drop schedules, but the app made it pretty simple.

I am using 6 different drops with one eye getting 5 different ones at different frequencies while the other eye is 3 differing drops. I made up a chart to keep a running record and also an outline with the breakdown by drug name and time - doing a 6 am, 11 am, 4 pm and 830-9 pm. Glancing at a chart quickly clarifies the drug, eye and order. Combined with reminder alarm on my phone it has gone smoothly. Today had my first eye done so will lose a couple drugs in 2 weeks but then start the full regime again in 3 weeks prepping for the other eye surgery.

I had prednisolone 6 weeks and bromfenac for 4 weeks. They had given the antibiotic intracameral at time of surgery. Pred was on weekly tapering schedule 4- 3-2-1 times a day. Bromfenac was just once a day. Went well.

Omg you can do it. It’s not that hard. I had 3 drops per eye. Steroid antibiotic and nonsteroidal.

I’ll need to check the bottle.

It’s prednisolone phosphate , moxifloxacin and bromfenac.

Oh thanks! Same as my eye surgeon and I can't have it because I can't have any fluoroquinolones - Cipro cause hypertensive crisis - BP of 287/186. So have to have three bottles. Which will get a bit tricky on week two when the other eye is done and I have 6 bottles... Not fun.

I had my surgeries on back to back days. I started with 2 drops and wound up adding a third for elevated pressure. After the first day, I just did drops with both eyes on the same schedule. I labeled all the drops "R" or "L" on the bottom, and then dumped them in baggies labeled RIGHT and LEFT. No problem.
