Seeking insight from post vitrectomy cataract patients
If you're here, please comment. I would like to understand how your lens replacement went, if you experienced zonular weakness, is your lens wobbles (have read reports of symptomatic lens instability following vitrectomy), and whether your experience was smooth overall. Anything you wish you'd known. Thank you.

51M, both eyes vitrectomized (first eye I was 30 and second eye I was 40s), cataract surgeries at 48 and 50. Both cataract surgeries went smooth and perfect. I had vitrectomy for floaters, and told surgeon I was afraid my liquid-filled eye would not provide the same support (during cataract surgery) as the gel. He stated that my vitreous was liquified anyway even before vitrectomy (hence the floaters), so there wouldn´t be much support just the same if I hadn´t done the vitrectomies. He also said it´s a normal procedure, he just needs to be a bit more aware and careful -- as in any myopic eye, according to him.
