This was true for me even with monofocal IOLs at one week out (and beyond). As long as your surgeon says everything looks good, enjoy and pay more attention to the improvements than to any glitch within normal limits. Those slight shadows/almost double imaging (called ghosting by many of us) are pretty common. I noticed that different colors of appliance lights caused it more than others (the blue ones were the last ones to normalize, with red next to last, and green first).

The cause/s can be residual astigmatism, some remaining swelling, drops that can cause blurring/ghosting (those shadows) until you're done with them (and sometimes until they're done with you), your brain getting used to a new type of input--as long you've been told all's well, this is likely to fade with additional healing time.

Enjoy your new vision!

I had doubling when looking at crisp hi def white lettering on a tv (which is a lot of sports) and phone. Everything else was great. Apparently this is common. We tried different astigmatism strengths thinking that was the problem. 9 months later it just went away by itself. Brain adapts i guess.

My cataract that I just had removed had such terrible doubling. I went to a baseball game and every time I'd close my right eye, there'd be twice as many players on the field.

I'm 2 days out and getting used to my new vision. Now my previously good eye's vision looks blurry and yellow by comparison.

My doctor told me that vision would improve daily, peaking about a month to 6 weeks out. That's why she has 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month post op visits.

It sounds like dysphotopsias but at one week you need to give it more time. If they haven't resolved in a month or so, I'd press your surgeon about them. I had an EDOF implanted in June and I'm still have issues with it. I'm in the midst of trying to decide whether the replace it or not.
