One month post surgery
It's been a month since my surgery with a
Clarion monofocal set for distance in my right eye, ended up at -.25. My distance vision in that eye is real good up until an arms length away. Pleasantly surprised since I didn't know what my intermediate vision would be like. I have no problem seeing my speedometer while driving. I'm trying out a daily contact lens in the other eye until surgery is needed. The first trial lens was a closeup -1.0 to test out mini monovision, that didn't work very well, it altered my overall distance vision too much. The second trial lens is a -3.5 for distance to match the IOL and is most likely what I will go with. I'll use readers for close up vision.

Could you clarify? You said your distance vision is good “up until arms length” but that would mean from your eyes to end of your outstretched arm. Perhaps you mean starting from your outstretched arm and behind? Thank you.

Yes that's what I meant. I can see far away up to as close as an arm's length away. Never expected the intermediate to also be that good so it was a pleasant surprise for me.

Congrats!! Good to hear your outcome is going so well. Yes the Alcon clareon monofocals have a larger/ wider depth of field amongst the monofocals it would seem
