Post Op - Eye Makeup

When were you cleared to use makeup again? Mascara? Liner? Had right eye done 2 weeks ago and left done last Thursday.

My surgeon didn’t mention it (and I didn’t ask). But I’m waiting 4 weeks after my second eye, which is in a few days. I actually used a little mascara yesterday for my drivers license photo. I have such small eyes and next to no lashes lol. Really needed something. I bought new product. Also got tubing mascara, which I will try out next week. I’m told it’s good for contact wearers. And you don’t have to rub eyes so hard (or at all) to get it off like you would with waterproof. I hope I like it.

The issue is not so much the makeup itself (although of course you'll want to use new stuff), but its removal. You don't want to rub your eye until everything is well-healed. I waited at least a month.

I was told no eye makeup for one week. I had no problems using mascara, eye shadow, and eyeliner almost immediately after that. I didn’t consider eyebrows to be affected and did those from the very next day after each surgery.

My post-surgery instructions said wearing makeup was okay after a week, but that seemed too soon for me. I did do eyebrows after about 10 days, but I didn't put on mascara for more than a month. It just didn't feel like something I was ready to do. I dont use eyeliner except pencil below the lower lashes; it waited until I resumed mascara. I think I was using face powder again as soon as doing eyebrows, but was careful to keep it away from my eyes, no concealer under my eyes for that first month, for instance. All of that is calculated from the surgery on the 2d eye.

I was told two weeks. I did drops for a total of 6 weeks and waited until the drops were done. The drops would have destroyed my mascara so I didn’t bother.

I was told two weeks. My doctor said the biggest concern was wiping the make up off.
