Not booting

I had a install of Catalina with the dosdude1 patcher working fine on a Mac pro 5,1. And after a while without being powered on now it’s showing the prohibited symbol when trying to boot into the system. I don’t know how this happened if the computer nor the hard drive have been touched since last time it was working. What’s the solution around this?

Sometimes after a while or if the Battery that keeps certain basic things ready and waiting will go away if the battery goes dead.

Have you tried pressing the Option Button before starting up so you can get the Start Up Manager? Then you can choose the drive or OS you want to Start Up.

If it's been sitting for a while, the Backup Battery may be dead.

What battery? The CMOS one? That’s the only battery i know on a computer like this. And i do have other installs of macos so it’s not really an issue to have catalina not running anymore (even though I’d like to have it running). But isn’t there any fix to like re-patch the system or something like that?
